Custom Source Capture Arm For A Torch Cutting Table
As mentioned before in a previous article, the main advantage of this type of capture arm is that less power is required in order to efficiently filter the emanations resulting from the cutting process.
Two self-supporting stainless steel metal ducts are positioned right next to the cutting torch's nozzle and follow it in its tracks, resulting in a much more precise extraction of the fumes. The system demands much less output, unlike over-the-top capture hoods and integrated down drafting solutions where much more power is required from the blower in order to cover their large surface area.
The contaminated air is forwarded to a cyclone dust collector, where it first undergoes through a coarse dust pre-separation process, and it is then conveyed to a cartridge dust collector where the final filtration process is accomplished.
