Sandvik

Challenge

Sandvik faced significant health and maintenance challenges due to the accumulation of metal fines and dust during the deburring and machining of metal tubes. These airborne particles not only posed serious risks to workers’ health but also contributed to increased equipment wear and tear, necessitating frequent maintenance interventions.

Solution

To address these concerns, a custom solution was developed featuring a specialized plexiglass enclosure paired with custom-designed hood pickups. This setup allowed for optimized airflow and cleaning efficiency, using minimal air volume while delivering maximum performance. The flexible, strategically placed pickups were equipped with self-supporting hoses, enabling highly efficient source capture. This design maintained negative pressure and consistent air changes within the enclosure, ensuring minimal dust leakage.

The result was a significant reduction in emissions, creating a safer and healthier work environment for employees. The solution not only improved air quality but also mitigated the need for excessive maintenance, boosting overall productivity.
